The Telluride Company
I love TelCo — great vibes, solid people-watching front patio, and good strong coffee. Also, the staff is incredibly friendly and I may have met my puppy here, so I'm a bit biased. My go-to spot for a coffee-and-writing morning, or a coffee-and-walk-around-town. Note: no WiFi, but very dog-friendly!
The Coffee Cowboy
The Coffee Cowboy has an absolutely incredible new location across from the Post Office (near the old Voodoo). It's not just a truck anymore! The apparel is sweet, the coffee is as good as ever, and the "downstairs" area is the best spot in town to relax. They did a masterful job with the new spot, seriously. Come for the coffee but stay for the ambiance — and pick up souvenirs while you're at it.
Butcher & Baker
Butcher and Baker has dope food, great coffee, and an incredible main street patio (or at least 2 tables of it) for people watching. On the downside, the line is always long and the staff is always rude. The sceniest spot for breakfast and coffee, but I'm kinda over the attitude and the line, personally.
Between the Covers (Bruno Coffee)
Just an espresso machine at the back of the bookstore, essentially. I'd prioritize the books (awesome selection) but would bring coffee from elsewhere.
Baked in Telluride
BIT (as the locals call it) is the local's spot for a quick coffee and breakfast bite, with homemade pastries and more hearty meals as well. I recommend the pastries and the coffee for a grab-and-go bite.
La Cocina de Luz
La Cocina is the best spot for a legit breakfast, with incredible Mexican food (chilaquiles with red sauce ftw) and strong coffee. It's also cozy and chill in the morning, and my favorite for brunch.
Mountain Village
Tracks is fine for a grab-and-go coffee, or for a coffee when headed skiing. Black Iron has good (if overpriced) food and a cozy setup inside.
The Verdict
For the full experience: start at TelCo, wander to Coffee Cowboy if you're heading that direction, and end at La Cocina for a proper brunch. Skip the line at B&B on a busy morning — or go early and accept that the eggs are worth it.
