I highly recommend heading down to the Buck to see When Dishwashers Were Kings, a new movie from Brent Englund and Hayley Nenadal.

WDWK is an ode to ski bum culture — is it gone, or disappearing? What made Telluride so special? And how has it changed?

Spoiler alert: the Telluride of the early ski area days is gone. The movie focuses on the old-time locals that moved here in the 1970–1990 era, before Telluride was famous and when the ski area was just getting going. There are a few of them left, but not many, and moving to Telluride to be a full-time ski bum is a bit different now.

The movie also honors long-time locals that have passed away, including Hannah Smith. I got emotional hearing her voice and seeing her smile again. She was the best of Telluride.

Don't miss it! And to the point of the movie, it's probably the last thing in Telluride you can do for $5.
